Biography

The passion for magic tricks began in 1986. That same year, I entered the circus studio in Voronezh in the department of “Illusion and Manipulation.” A year later, my brother, Pavel Sumets, joined me, and we subsequently worked together for many years. Our first stage illusion acts were created in the circus studio under the direction of A.I. Palchikov.

In 1987, we became laureates of the All-Russian and then the All-Soviet Talent Festival as artists of the original genre. In 1988, I met the renowned Soviet and Russian illusionist Nikolai Kontsov, who strongly influenced my work at that time.

In 1993, I was accepted into the staff of the Voronezh State Philharmonic as a magician in a pop group under the direction of O. Bernikova. Working in this team was an excellent professional school, allowing me to gain valuable experience and develop a strong repertoire. Starting in 1997, my brother and I were repeatedly invited to take part in circus programs at the Voronezh State Circus. During this time, we released our first solo show, “World of Miracles,” which we successfully toured for many years, performing in sanatoriums, rest homes, and schools. Pavel also became a full-time artist at the Philharmonic, where we worked until 2003.

From the early 1990s, we actively demonstrated our art at festive events (banquets, weddings, anniversaries) and in numerous nightclubs, restaurants, and variety shows, becoming some of the most sought-after magician in the city at that time. In the early 2000s, we released our second solo program, “World of Wonders - 2,” which we also toured with success. We performed abroad in the UAE, New Zealand, and the USA. Since 2003, after leaving the Philharmonic, we have been working independently.
